Program Overview
Lehigh University’s Center for Advanced Technology of Large Structural Systems (ATLSS) is offering undergraduate research fellowships for Summer 2008. Funding for the program is provided by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Technology Alliance (PITA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), through the George E. Brown, Jr. Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation Consortium (NEESinc). The program is a 10-week research experience during which students will work under the direction of faculty advisors and graduate student mentors on an active research project focused within an ATLSS research area. Professional development workshops and offsite engineering-related industrial tours will be included in the program.
ATLSS research areas include Earthquake Engineering, Structural Design and Analysis, Bridge and Building Systems, Finite Element Modeling, Innovative Materials, Sensor Technology, Foundation Engineering, Field Testing, and Blast Resistant Engineering. |
